UFC 99 is finally here (well, it will be tomorrow) and the main event of Rich Franklin taking on Wanderlei Silva is a very interesting one. Is it worthy of the headline status? For a show overseas, probably. For a fan to shell out the same cash they will for UFC 100? Probably not.

Whether you watch it at 3 p.m. live or at 10 p.m. on tape delay, it should be an entertaining card. Silva and Franklin both like to stand and bang, and both guys need a win. Silva is trying to make a case for a title shot against Anderson Silva for his middleweight tile. Franklin is trying to gain legitimacy in the scene at 205 pounds. Both guys have gone too long without a defining win. Franklin is the Vegas favorite (-160) and Silva is the pros favorite and it’s a tough one to call. I think Franklin will get the win with a third-round TKO, but very little (other than a submission or a boring fight, maybe) in this one will surprise me.

The fight between Cain Velasquez and Cheick Kongo should be intriguing as well. Velasquez is an impressive heavyweight prospect, but Kongo seems in line for a title shot after Brock Lesnar faces Frank Mir. While the heavyweight scene in the UFC doesn’t look as bland as it used to, there still isn’t a ton there and Velasquez moves much closer to a title shot with a win. One would have to think Kongo is officially next in line with one. I know Kongo was a late addition to this fight but I’m not ready to jump on the Velasquez bandwagon just yet.

And, for those of you interested in the past, Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic is on the card. His bout with Mustapha Al-Turk will be interesting because Filipovic will kick Al-Turk in the head and Al-Turk will lose consciousness. This will cause everyone to rave about how the old Cro Cop is back and is going to set the UFC heavyweight division on fire. Then he’ll go on to lose to Gabriel Gonzaga again or to the loser of the Randy Couture vs. Minotauro Nogueira matchup. It will be cool to see the highlight knockout, but I’m not holding out hope for the old "Cro Cop" to return to the MMA scene.

Howard managed just one-of-six from the field, but posted his usual double-double adding 15 rebounds to his effort. Orlando has never won an NBA Finals game SU going 0-5 in its history. Tonight the Magic will look to build on a 5-6 ATS mark on the road in the postseason.

The Lakers sent a bold statement to the Magic and all the critics that have them as heavy ‘favorites’ in this series scoring over 100-points for a seventh straight game. LA has been up and down the entire playoffs, but seems to have finally found its grove at the right time. Lakers G Kobe Bryant put up 40 points for the third time in his L/7 contests in Game 1 schooling the young Magic with his sweet jump-shot. Kobe had a near triple-double on Thursday adding eight rebounds and eight assists while blocking two shots defensively. The Lakers are 5-5 ATS on their home floor in the 2009 NBA playoffs and they hope to build on that to take a 2-0 series lead tonight.

Just when folks begin to doubt the Magic they seem to respond with a loud vengeance and have lost consecutive contests just once in these playoffs against the Boston Celtics. The Magic are 6-1 SU after a loss this postseason which is a stat that leads me to believe they will have a great bounce-back performance in Game 2. Look for the Magic to find new ways to defend Bryant while Howard has another 20/20 performance to tie the series heading to Orlando.

Vince young lost his starting position last season to Kerry Collins, who brought the Titans to the playoffs. Who was a free agent but was re-signed in the off season, but as it seems Kerry will remain the Titans starter. But Vince Young told everyone through Baltimore television station, that if he wasn't starting for the Titans as quarterback. He wants to find another team that will accept his talent as a starting quarterback.

"I definitely want to get back out there playing ball and picking up where I left off, winning games and having a good time with my teammates and with the fans," Young told WMAR-TV, according to an account of the interview in the Tennessean. Young shouldn't be so sure. His stock around the NFL has reach a nadir, and it's unlikely there are any teams just waiting to hand him the keys to the franchise. With a , huge scheduled raise coming in 2010 Young seems likely to be looking for a job next off-season.

Young would be well served to work hard, shut his yapper again, and wait for Collins' inevitable decline. While he may no longer be the future in Tennessee, Young's best chance to rehab his value and "play ball" again will be with the Titans this year.

Until he steps on the field again, there will remain a lot of questions about Young's game, especially his accuracy and decision making. But there are even more concerns about his maturity level. Comments like this won't help.

This upgrade in storage is very plausible and is almost expected. Last year, the iPhone 3G was introduced with capacities that were double that of its predecessor. It stands to reason this would occur again with the natural progression of the technology. This increase in storage has also been reported by several news outlets.

-Current subsidized price-points to be maintained
There has been a lot of speculation that Apple may attempt to reduce the price of the iPhone in an attempt to gain market share or battle the upcoming Palm Pre. With these new features, including an OLED screen, it seems unlikely they can lower the price points. At the same time when the iPhone 3G was introduced at the subsidized price, it sold in record numbers. To increase the price now would not likely be in Apple’s best interest from a sales-volume perspective. All things considered it seems likely that the prices won’t come up or down. Given Apple’s track record of upgrading products without raising prices, it is safe to assume that prices of the iPhone will more than likely remain the same.

Additionally the focal length and focus of the camera could even assist is determining the distance of any focused objects in the picture. In other words, not only would the device know where you are, but it could determine how you are tilting it and hence it would know EXACTLY where in space your picture was composed. According to our source, Apple will use this information to introduce several groundbreaking features. For example, if you were to take a picture of the Staples Center in Los Angeles, you will be provided with a prompt directing you to information about the building, address, and/or area. This information will include sources such as wikipedia. This seems like quite an amazing service; and a little hard to believe, however while the complexity of such a service may be unrealistic, such is actually feasible with the sensors onboard the next generation iPhone.

Understanding Your Scores

In addition to your scores, your SAT score reports also include percentiles and score ranges. Admissions staff use the percentiles and ranges to evaluate the scores because no single score can tell everything about how you performed on the test. Keep in mind that colleges use more than your SAT scores when making admissions decisions. Your high school record is most important, and colleges may also consider essays, recommendations, interviews, and your involvement in extracurricular activities.

SAT Reasoning Test

What is a good SAT score, SAT scores are reported on a scale from 200-800, with additional subscores reported for the essay (ranging from 2-12) and for multiple-choice writing questions (on a 20-80 scale). Your scores tell college admissions staff how you did compared with other students who took the test. For example, if you scored close to the mean or average—about 500 on SAT critical reading and 500 on SAT mathematics—admissions staff would know that you scored as well as about half of the students who took the test nationally.

Raw vs. Scaled

In order to reach the number you see on your score report,

two calculations must take place.

First, your raw score is calculated. This is the number of points
you earned, based on the number of questions you answered correctly,
minus a fraction of the number answered incorrectly. Questions you
skipped are not counted and no points are subtracted for incorrect

called equating. Equating ensures that the different forms of the
test or the level of ability of the students with whom you are tested
do not affect your score. Equating makes it possible to make
comparisons among test takers who take different editions of the
test across different administrations.

Writing Section Subscores

The raw scores for the multiple-choice writing section are
converted to scaled scores that are reported on a 20-80 scale.
Every SAT Reasoning Test contains a 25-minute essay. The essay
subscore is reported on a 2-12 scale. (Essays that are not written
on the essay assignment, or which are considered illegible after
several attempts at reading, receive a score of 0.) Each essay is independently scored from 1 to 6 by two readers.These readers'
scores are combined to produce the 2-12 scale. If the two readers'
scores differ by more than one point, a third reader scores the essay.
The multiple-choice writing section counts for approximately 70% and
the essay counts for approximately 30% of your total raw score, which

Subject Test Subscores

Subscores on the Subject Tests are used to compute the total score,
but their individual contributions differ between the different tests. Subscores are reported on a 20-80 scale. For the French, German,
and Spanish with Listening tests, the reading subscore counts twice
as much as the listening subscore. For the Chinese, Japanese, and
Korean tests, subscores are weighted equally. For the Subject Test
in Writing (January 2005 and earlier) the multiple-choice subscore
counts twice as much as the essay subscore.

CRITICAL READING Section --- SENTENCE COMPLETION:
-Before looking at the answers, try to complete the sentence with words that make sense to you.
-Don't rush your selection. Consider all the answers to make the best choice.
-Use the context of nearby words to figure out unknown words.
-Don't overlook the reversing effect of negative words (like not) or prefixes (like un-).
-If you're really stuck for the meaning of a word, try to think of other words that have similar prefixes, roots, or suffixes.
-Eliminate choices in double-blank questions if the first word alone doesn't make sense in the sentence.
-Let transition words (like although and likewise) help suggest the best answer.

-Don't waste time memorizing details.
-Passage content comes from the Humanities, Social Science, Science, and Literal Fiction.
-Some passages are presented in pairs. Read the brief introduction first to see how they relate.
-Spend more time on answering the questions than on reading the text.

WRITING Section --- WRITTEN ESSAY:
-Write a short (about 250-300 words), persuasive essay on an assigned topic.
-Keep in mind the structure of an essay - 5 paragraphs consisting of an: Introduction, Body (about 3 paragraphs), Conclusion
-The alloted time frame is 25 minutes. Read the essay question quickly and think about the topic (about 5 minutes). Allow most of your time (about 15 minutes) to write the essay. Spend the remaining 5 minutes reviewing and editing your work.
-Introductory Paragraph should state the position that is being taken. It should also state about 3 points that support this position.
-The Body Paragraphs should expand the points that you present with specific detail and examples.
-The Concluding Paragraph should summarize your point of view by restating the thesis statement in a revised format.
-Keep your writting simple.
-Avoid wordiness.
-Avoid slang.

WRITING SECTION -- MULTIPLE CHOICE: Usage, Sentence Correction, and Paragraph Correction
-Think about the question before you answer it.
-Move around within a Section.
-Usage & Sentence Correction questions are based on individual sentences. They test basic -grammar, sentence structure, and word choice.
-Paragraph Correction questions are based on 2 brief passages, with several questions per passage.
-Read the questions carefully.

MATH Section --- STUDENT PRODUCED RESPONSE (GRID):
-Guess if you can't figure it out. There is no penalty for wrong answers in this section.
-Negative numbers are not possible as answers in this section. If your answer comes up negative, do it again.
-You may begin to enter a short answer in any column. For instance, .6 can be entered in columns 1-2, or 2-3, or 3-4.
-If an answer is a repeating decimal (like .33333333), just enter as many decimals as will fit in the grid (.333).
-You may enter an equivalent decimal for a fraction as your answer, but why waste the time evaluating the fraction?
-Do not try to enter mixed numbers. For example, if your answer is 3 1/2, enter it as 3.5 or 7/2.

MATH Section - STANDARD MULTIPLE CHOICE:
-Read the question well. Be sure to select the best answer for the variable, value, or expression that is requested!
-Learn in advance all of the critical definitions, formulas, and concepts that appear in common questions.
-Remember to use the test booklet for scratch work, as well as for marking up any diagrams/graphs.
-Early questions in this section are easier. Spend less time on them.
-Don't get carried away with detailed calculations. Look for a trick or a shortcut if the question seems time consuming.
-When a question contains a weird symbol, just substitute the accompanying definition when figuring out the best answer choice.
